Get to know the photographer

Our Journey

I didn't ever plan to become a photographer, but I'm so glad I did.

I was given a camera as a gift, and I had a dog that would move worlds for me (and cheese). Below is a very compact timeline of how one dog singlehandedly taught me everything I needed to know, watching me progress year by year, all self-taught.

COMPOSITION

It didn't start well. I had no idea what I was doing, but we were having fun! Probably too much fun for his liking, he really did put up with a lot!

Eventually I figured out how it all works, and repaid him for his patience by finally capturing all his best angles, really showing him through my own eyes.

LIGHTING

I say all this not just to talk about my dog, but to demonstrate how deeply I feel these images matter. We never have enough time with them, and being able to view a photo that feels so accurate to their expression, their colouring, their personality - is why I still do what I do.

There is a place for a quick phone photo. There is also a place for that one image, hung on your wall.
