Frequently asked questions

My dog is reactive, can they come?

Yes - Though I love to get involved with the dogs on a shoot, this is not required if it will stress them out. They will need to be comfortable with me being close to them however.

My locations are also often very quiet, however I cannot guarantee this. I am always happy to make accommodations for dogs with extra needs. - Every dog deserves their photo taken!

They can't be let off the lead, will this impact my images?

Nope! If I asked you to point out which images of mine the dog was on a lead, could you do it? The long-line and photoshop combo works wonders. If your dog must stay on the lead for any reason at all, this will not impact your experience or images.

I'm worried my dog isn't the best trained and won't pose.

Though I'd be lying if I said a solid "stay" wasn't useful, it is not required. Neither is perfect obedience!  A combination of action shots, playtime, simply letting them explore the area, or even a little treat bribery goes a long way. I've met 100+ dogs, so I'm sure you will be fine too!

What time do you host shoots?

As early as possible to catch the best lighting! It could easily be 7am.

Lighting is everything to a photographer, and to capture the type of images that you expect from my work, this is essential.

I choose mornings as the lighting will only increase, whereas evening sunsets can cloud over unexpectedly, and cause conditions far too dark.

Do you take a deposit?

I do - I take a non-refundable 20% deposit at the time of booking, and it is at that time your date is secured. The remainder of the cost is taken after we have been on our shoot, in-case of any last minute weather issues!

What if I love more than 5 images?

Have as many as you wish!

My pricing for additional physical and digitals products is included in the guide sent to you upon enquiring with me. There is never an expectation to purchase more, and there is no hard sell from me. Your gallery is viewed online, in your own home at your own pace. The choices are yours alone!

Can I be in some images with my dog?

Absolutely! I will always offer to get some 'family portrait' style images for you, as well as try to capture some candids you may have not noticed. I love showing the bond and shared looks between dog and owner, and always include them where I am able.

However, I am a canine photographer, and the focus will always be on your pet first and foremost.

What if theres bad weather?

We likely won't go, and I will make rearrangements with you.  However, by bad weather I mean raining, too hot, or partciularly dull days.

A light drizzle is okay, but my gear needs to be protected from rain where possible.

Unsafely hot weather for the dogs will be rearranged either to an earlier time or alternative day.

Very dull days will also be rescheduled where possible, however simply being cloudy is not enough, this can actually be good!
